Most of what is written about cats online falls into two camps: the cute and the clinical. Endless aesthetic photos with no substance, or veterinary articles written for people who already know what they are looking for.

paw and sage sits in between. It is for people who want to actually understand the cat in their home: what their behavior means, how to make their life richer, when something is off and worth a vet visit, and what to buy without overspending on things that will not matter.

What you'll find here

Articles organized into three threads: Behavior, Enrichment, and New Cat.

Every article is written to be useful in the first paragraph, not the seventh. Many include product recommendations through affiliate links that help support the work here. We only recommend items that seem like a strong fit for the use case.

About the author

I'm Pascal. I write paw and sage in the early mornings before my day job, with a strong opinion that cats deserve more thoughtful attention than the internet usually gives them.

I also build CatPlay, a small iOS app for tracking cat behavior. It comes from the same belief that paying attention is the foundation of good care.

How we research and update articles

Articles are based on published veterinary and feline welfare guidance, product documentation where relevant, and practical owner experience. If you want the full process, read our editorial policy.

How to support this work

Three ways: read the articles and use what helps you, share posts with cat people in your life, and when you buy something we have recommended, use the affiliate links. None of it costs you anything. All of it makes it possible to keep writing.
